Grant Funding for Alaska, South Dakota, Guam, American Samoa and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands
Up to $6 million is available through the Member Impact Fund, a matching grant program providing up to $3 for every $1 of a member’s contribution to a not-for-profit organization or government entity’s whose eligibility is confirmed by FHLB Des Moines.
Grants may be used for capacity building or working capital to advance affordable housing or community development.
Grant recipients must be located in Alaska, South Dakota, American Samoa, Guam or the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

Award Process and Member Responsibilities
1. Awards announced on or around Feb. 13
2. FHLB Des Moines will deposit grant funds within 2 weeks
Verify you received award(s) in your Demand Deposit Account (DDA).
3. Members must disburse the Member Impact Fund award and member's match to grantee
Disburse to grantee within one month of receiving the award in your DDA.
4. Let’s celebrate! A media kit is available to support your efforts
Members will acknowledge the FHLB Des Moines' contribution in any public promotions or announcements.
5. FHLB Des Moines will directly notify each grantee of award verification requirement
Members must ensure that the grantee completes this requirement within two months of having funds deposited to the member’s DDA.
