FHLB Des Moines awards over $12.9 million to strengthen communities

Over $12.9 Million awarded to Alaska, South Dakota and 2 U.S. Pacific Territories

On February 18, FHLB Des Moines announced it has awarded more than $12.9 million to 74 member financial institutions through the Member Impact Fund. Awards will be distributed alongside contributions from FHLB Des Moines members to more than 350 eligible not-for-profit and government organizations dedicated to strengthening communities across Alaska, South Dakota, Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

Applications were accepted Jan. 12 - 30, 2026.

Award Process and Member Responsibilities 

1. FHLB Des Moines members were notified via email of awards on Feb. 13, 2026

1 If you have not received your award details email or have questions about your award, please contact us at MemberImpactFund@fhlbdm.com

2. FHLB Des Moines deposited grant funds on Feb. 17, 2026

1 Verify you received award(s) in your Demand Deposit Account (DDA).

3.  Members must disburse the Member Impact Fund award and member's match to grantee

1 Disburse to grantee no later than March 17, 2026.

4. Let’s celebrate! A media kit is available to support your efforts

1 Members will acknowledge the FHLB Des Moines' contribution in any public promotions or announcements.

5.  FHLB Des Moines will directly notify each grantee of award verification requirement

1 Members must ensure that the grantee completes this requirement no later than April 17, 2026.
