Doing good in our community is what we’re all about. It’s at the core of our business. To us, being a good corporate citizen is being part of the communities where our employees live and work.
Our mission continues to be focused on being a reliable provider of funding, liquidity and services for our members so they can meet the housing, business and economic development needs of the communities they serve.
Corporate citizenship is reflected in each one of our core values – excellence, empowerment, integrity, respect, teamwork and authenticity. And, it’s our commitment to help make our communities great places to live, work and play through volunteerism, financial support and public policy.
We’re proud of the many ways we are involved in the community. From large-scale, Bankwide initiatives to employees rolling up their sleeves and making a difference, our goal is to strengthen communities together. Every day.
Building stronger communities doesn’t happen overnight. And, it doesn’t happen alone. At FHLB Des Moines, volunteering is part of our community-minded mission. Our employees give back. They give new meaning to teamwork and building stronger communities. Each year, employees find ways to get involved as part of their Bank and on their own. We encourage employees to get involved in helping community organizations that are important to them. Donating, reading to kids, building homes, providing financial education or mentoring the next generation – the list is as long as it is wide.
Sponsorships are just one of the ways we give back and create strategic connections with community partners around causes that align with our key focus areas of housing, financial literacy, education and quality of life improvements. Matching Gifts Program
Through our Matching Gifts Program, qualified employee gifts made to eligible 501(c)(3) organizations are matched by the company, doubling the impact made by our employees.
We stand strong in our support of communities when they’re thriving, or if they’re hurting. That’s why we provide financial assistance during natural disasters or other emergencies.
