HOW IT WORKS

Member Impact Fund Overview

The Member Impact Fund is an up to 3:1 matching grant program that encourages partnerships between eligible FHLB Des Moines member financial institutions (“members”) and an eligible grantee. 

An eligible grantee includes a not-for-profit organization (NFP) or government entity that has a mission of promoting affordable housing or community development and is located in an eligible state or U.S. territory.

Applications are submitted by members through our online Voluntary Program System accessed in eAdvantage. Certain member requirements must be satisfied.

Members must contribute at least $2,500 of their own funds per application.

Pro Rate Awards: If the amount of funds requested exceeds the amount of available funding, the FHLB Des Moines will typically prorate its Member Impact Fund awards. In this situation, the member will still be required to donate the entire amount of their contribution.
