Through our Home$tart program, eligible households may receive $15,000 and households completing a home purchase in Hawaii may receive $25,000 in down payment and closing cost assistance.

Since the inception of our Down Payment programs Home$tart and the Native American Homeownership Initiative (NAHI), FHLB Des Moines has awarded a combined $161.7 million in down payment and closing cost assistance to help more than 33,500 families with the purchase of a home.

Additional 2024 Home$tart funds now available!

On July 1, 2024 FHLB Des Moines added $3,400,000 in Home$tart funds. This funding is available on a first-come, first-serve basis, subject to availability.
