The Competitive Affordable Housing Program is one of the nation's largest sources of grants for affordable housing projects. Since the inception of the program, FHLB Des Moines has awarded $835 million to provide safe and affordable housing to more than 95,500 families and individuals.
The 2025 AHP application period is now closed.
Awards will be announced in December, 2025.
Grants are available to sponsors, which include nonprofits, governments, housing authorities and other qualifying organizations. Sponsors require the support of an FHLB Des Moines member financial institution to apply.
