Economic Opportunity or Empowerment

Projects earns points in this category if:

The project must make available at least one of the following empowerment services or programs:

  • Employment
  • Education (such as financial literacy, GED, etc.)
  • Job training
  • Homebuyer, homeownership or tenant counseling
  • Childcare
  • Adult daycare services
  • Afterschool care
  • Tutoring
  • Health services
  • Resident involvement in project
  • Workforce preparation and integration

Points available (Fixed): 5 points

To earn the 5 fixed points, the empowerment service or program must be available to all AHP-assisted households.

Required documents include:

  • Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for each empowerment service or program offered

Helpful Hints

  • The category of health services can include mental and behavioral health services
