Sponsors and Members

Sponsor

A sponsor is a local housing provider managing an affordable housing project. They can include governments, Native American tribes, housing authorities and other qualifying organizations.

Sponsors can include both not-for-profit and for-profit organizations.

Sponsors must have the support of an FHLB Des Moines member to apply and receive funding for the AHP project.

A sponsor must be integrally involved in planning, development or management of the project. For rental projects, sponsor must have an ownership interest in the project.

Member

A member is an FHLB Des Moines member financial institution.

The sponsor/member relationship fosters community relationships, provide economic development opportunities and leverages local dollars.

A membership directory lists all FHLB Des Moines members.
