December 2023 marks Henning’s 20th year leading Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity. Henning’s work in affordable housing also includes co-founding the Iowa Homeownership Coalition, serving as a board member of Homes for Iowa, and serving on the Housing Supply Workgroup, a local Des Moines metro coalition of nonprofits and housing providers. He serves on the Habitat State Advocacy Committee, the United Way of Central Iowa Public Policy Committee and Campaign Cabinet - Chair Public Services Segment and serves on the Large Repairs Coalition Polk County. He previously served as a Board Member on the Public Policy Committee of Polk County Housing Trust Fund, as a U.S. Council Member on the Innovation Work Group with Habitat International, served as a member of neighborhood redevelopment coalition with Viva East Bank and on the Government Relations Committee with Home Builders Association of Greater Des Moines.
