FHLB Des Moines Appoints Two New Members to Advisory Council

Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines) recently appointed Wendy Martinez, director of Homeowner Services and Community Engagement for Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Teton Area, to our Affordable Housing Advisory Council (Advisory Council) as its Wyoming representative. Angeline Johnson, administrator/coordinator for T Yamni ~ Sisseton-Wahpeton Housing Authority, has also been appointed to our Advisory Council as the representative for South Dakota. Ms. Martinez and Ms. Johnson begin their three-year term on January 1, 2023.

“Wendy is a leader with proven expertise in community affordable housing, program management and outreach,” said Jennifer Ernst, community investment director at FHLB Des Moines. “Her dedication to expanding homeownership will be an enormous asset to supporting the affordable housing and community development needs across our district.”

Ms. Martinez has served as the director of Homeowner Services and Community Engagement for Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Teton Area (Habitat) since 2018. In her role, she has partnered with community organizations and financial institutions to expand access to affordable housing. Wendy is inspired to continue her work to remove barriers to homeownership through financial education; creative lending solutions; and by improving access to affordable loans and quality financial services throughout all segments of her community.

“Angie brings a wealth of homeownership and rehabilitation expertise to her role on the Advisory Council,” said Jennifer Ernst. “Her proven record of building key partnerships in the community and with financial institutions will be an enormous asset to supporting the affordable housing and community development needs across our district.”

Since 2007, Ms. Johnson has worked for the Sisseton Wahpeton Housing Authority in a variety of roles. In her current position as administrator/coordinator for T Yamni, she provides assistance to tribal members for homeownership purchase and rehabilitation. She also serves as the housing improvement program director.
