Katie Steinke leads the Bank’s human resources division. She has more than 20 years of human resources experience among a variety of industries, including insurance, healthcare, manufacturing and bio-fuels. Her professional work has spanned strategic and operational human resources consulting and services, and includes having her own State Farm insurance agency.
Before joining FHLB Des Moines in 2021, Katie served as vice president, Human Resources, for Farm Credit Services of America in Omaha, Nebraska, and as director, Human Resources for Glacial Lakes Energy in Watertown, South Dakota.
Katie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a Master’s in HR Management/Labor and Employment Relations from Penn State University. She held a Senior Professional in Human Resources certificate from 2005-2008.
