Public Promotion Requirements
If your organization publicly promotes or announces its Member Impact Fund award:
- You must acknowledge FHLB Des Moines' contribution in all communications, including press release, social media posts, newsletter or other public materials.
- We request you notify FHLB Des Moines in advance of any planned promotions or announcement and provide an opportunity for FHLB Des Moines to participate.
These requirements help to strengthen the visibility of the partnership between FHLB Des Moines and our member institutions and ensures consistent program messaging. Maximizing your PR exposure
Ready to share the good news? Below are some ideas to help celebrate your Member Impact Fund award.
Giant Check Presentations:
Coordinating a large check presentation offers an excellent opportunity to highlight the award and recognize everyone involved, including FHLB Des Moines, the member financial institution and the grant recipient. Be sure to capture plenty of photos during the presentation- these images can enhance your public relations efforts generate positive publicity and help promote your organization's mission and values.

Social Media:
Social media is a great tool to highlight your award and the positive impact it will have in your community. FHLB Des Moines will be sharing award announcements on our social media platforms – and we encourage you to comment on and share our posts, as well as create your own photos and/or videos of check presentations or award features and share it yourself.

News Release & Electronic Media:
Publish a news article or blog onto your public website or local media outlets. FHLB Des Moines has provided some general information about the Member Impact Fund you can include as well as sample news release.
The goal of distributing the release to local media outlets is to raise awareness for your institution, celebrate the grantee organization who received the grant and to call attention to the need for affordable housing access and community development. Past Member Impact Fund award recipients should reach out to Rachel Wegmann, Public Relations Manager at rwegmann@fhlbdm.com for media support.

Events:
Hold in-person events which could include check presentations, community recognitions or corporate celebrations. Connect with your stakeholders – the many groups on whom your success depends – can help get the word out. The more you can share your grant award with different audiences, the more that people understand the important work you do in the community.
Some examples of community stakeholders could include:
- Chamber of Commerce
- City/state elected officials
- Local housing organizations
- Your customers or clients

Paid Advertising:
Explore the option of cost-sharing paid advertising with other Member Impact Fund recipients. Pooling resources can make advertising more affordable while also broadening the reach and increasing engagement for everyone involved.
