Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Announces Government Relations Director

Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines or the Bank) announces Joe Cwiklinski as the incoming vice president/government relations director. Cwiklinski will lead the government relations team and play a significant role in advocacy and education focused on preserving the cooperative ownership structure of the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLBank) System. Cwiklinski will also lead efforts in Washington, DC, and across the Bank’s 13-state district, promoting regulatory initiatives such as the Affordable Housing Program, the FHLBanks’ investment authority and equal access to low-cost funding by all creditworthy member financial institutions.

Cwiklinski has more than 20 years of experience advising members of Congress on legislative initiatives. In his prior roles, Cwiklinski has been involved with a number of key committees and programs including the U.S. Joint Economic Committee, U.S. Senate Banking Committee, U.S. Congressional Oversight Panel, Troubled Asset Relief Program and U.S. House Financial Services Committee.
