Meet John Jones

Supporting our Veterans

Taking military leave never gets any easier. That’s something John Jones knows all too well. As an FHLB Des Moines Money Desk Lead Specialist and a personnel specialist with the United States Navy, John frequently juggles his two careers. And while it isn’t always easy, he knows we’re committed to making the process as stress-free as possible.

“FHLB Des Moines has absolutely opened their arms, right from the beginning,” John says. “I had only been here for three months when I unexpectedly had to take four weeks of military leave—and that was right after I had taken some time off when my youngest daughter was born. They were more than respectful of the circumstances.”

Now, John is getting ready for a deployment that will take him away from his family, friends and civilian life for nine months. We’re doing everything possible to make sure John is supported at work, but he knows he can also count on us to be there for his wife and two young daughters while he’s overseas.

Whether it’s active-duty military members, veterans or military families, it’s our honor to support those who serve our country.
