Who is FHLB Des Moines?
FHLB Des Moines is one of 11 regional Banks that make up the Federal Home Loan Bank System (FHLBank).
The FHLBanks are cooperatively owned by their members and provide funding solutions and liquidity to support mortgage lending, economic development and affordable housing in their district. Each year, FHLB Des Moines reserves 10% of its net income to support affordable housing through AHP.
FHLB Des Moines district has more than 1,200 members in Alaska, American Samoa, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, North Mariana Islands, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
