The 2024 Member Impact Fund is a matching grant program that provides additional funding to strengthen communities in targeted areas. The program encourages partnerships between eligible organizations and member financial institutions to support affordable housing or community development.
Nearly $20 Million in Matching Funds were Awarded in March 2024
On March 27, 2024 FHLB Des Moines announced the award details of the 2024 Member Impact Fund. Over 500 applications were submitted from 94 members to support organizations in the four states and three U.S. territories eligible to participate. The Member Impact Fund is one way FHLB Des Moines supports a strong community banking system, which is foundational to a thriving community. This matching grant program is designed to offer eligible organizations critical financial support for affordable housing and community development initiatives in targeted areas of FHLB Des Moines’ district.
The Member Impact Fund $3 to $1 matching program was available to members to support organizations located in Hawaii, North Dakota, Montana, Oregon and the U.S. territories of Guam, American Samoa and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. The more than 500 grants combining both member institutions and FHLB Des Moines awards range from $10,000 to $5.13 million.

Award Disbursement
- Awards were announced on March 27, 2024 - all members who submitted a Member Impact Fund grant application will be notified of their award status and grant amount.
- Member Impact Fund grants will be posted to the member's Demand Deposit Account (DDA) on March 29, 2024.
- Within 30 days of funds posting to the member's DDA, the member must provide the full amount of the Member Impact Fund grant and the member's grant to the grantee.
- Grantees will verify receipt of the Member Impact Fund grant and the match from the FHLB Des Moines member within 60 days of funds posting to the member's DDA.

Grantees must complete, sign and return the below Verification of Receipt of Grant Funds form to memberimpactfund@fhlbdm.com by Wednesday, May 29, 2024 (60 days of funds posting to the member's DDA. If you received multiple awards, please complete and submit a form for each individual award.
