Hernandez Appointed to FHLB Des
Moines Advisory Council
(Des Moines, Iowa) – Francisco
Hernandez, marketing specialist for
Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) in Des
Moines, Iowa, was recently appointed
to serve on the Federal Home Loan
Bank of Des Moines’ Affordable
Housing Advisory Council (AHAC). His
three-year term began January 1,
2007.
In his current position, Mr.
Hernandez markets IFA’s housing
programs to minority individuals and
families throughout the state of
Iowa. He coordinates outreach
efforts specifically designed for
ethnic groups and develops new
services and improves existing
approaches for assisting minorities.
Mr. Hernandez works closely with
businesses and agencies, both
for-profit and not-for-profit, in
order to deliver programs and
initiatives important to the daily
lives and well-being of Iowans.
Mr. Hernandez was the 2005 – 2006
co-chair of the Mortgage Loan
Products Committee for the FDIC New
Americans Task Force and continues
being a member of the task force. He
is also vice-chair of the
Multilingual Committee, Iowa
Disaster Human Resources. And,
during the 2002 and 2005 income tax
season, Mr. Hernandez provided
volunteer income tax assistance
through the Department of Treasury.
The AHAC advises the FHLB on housing
and economic development programs
and needs. Advisory council members
are a diverse group of people from
across the FHLB’s five-state
district of Iowa, Minnesota,
Missouri, North Dakota and South
Dakota and typically have an
extensive housing and economic
development background.
Dan Buck, chief executive officer of
St. Patrick Center in St. Louis,
Missouri; Randy Railsback, executive
director of Green Hills RPC in
Trenton, Missouri; and Tonya White
Mountain, loan packager for Standing
Rock Housing Authority in Fort
Yates, North Dakota were appointed
to their first terms on the AHAC.
Paul Rechlin, executive director of
CommunityWorks North Dakota in
Bismarck was re-appointed to another
three-year term on the Bank’s
advisory council.
