to 42
communities
through
the
Rural
Homeownership
Fund (RHF).
The Bank
received
125
applications
totaling
$3.0
million
for the
2008
program.
Member
financial
institutions
throughout
the
Bank’s
five-state
district
can use
the
grants
to
provide
down
payment,
closing
cost,
counseling,
or
rehabilitation
assistance
to
individuals
and
families
in their
communities.
Eligible
households
purchasing
owner-occupied
units in
rural
locations
can
qualify
for
funding.

Authority
(IFA)
announced
that
there
are FHLB
Rural
Down
Payment
Assistance
loan
funds
available
to all
IFA
Participating
Lenders
through
its IFA
AHP
Rural
Down
Payment
Assistance
loan
program.
Although
IFA
listed
the FHLB
Des
Moines’
Rural
Homeownership
Fund,
Urban
Homeownership
Fund,
and
Urban
First-time
Homebuyer
Fund as
additional
approved
subsidy
programs,
these
programs
may not
be used
in
conjunction
with the
IFA AHP
Rural
Down
Payment
Assistance
loan
funds.
