Richard S. Swanson
President & CEO |
Dick Swanson joined FHLB Des Moines
as President and CEO June 1, 2006
equipped with years of experience as
an attorney, veteran bank CEO and
former director of the FHLBank of
Seattle.
Under his leadership as Chairman and
Chief Executive Officer of
HomeStreet Bank in Seattle,
Washington from 1990 until 2003,
HomeStreet became the largest
privately held bank in the coastal
Pacific Northwest, serving
Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and
Hawaii. Until early 2003, Dick
served as vice chair of the board of
directors of the FHLBank of Seattle.
After retiring from HomeStreet Bank,
Dick became a principal of the
Seattle law firm of Hillis, Clark,
Martin and Peterson where he
provided counsel in areas of
finance, banking law and SEC
Registration.
In addition to his professional
accomplishments, Dick has received
numerous honors for his community
work and has been a leader in
developing and implementing a
variety of affordable housing
programs. Dick is currently a board
member of the Initiative for
Global Development. Dick
previously served as a
director of Triad Guaranty,
a publicly traded mortgage
insurance company. He
received his undergraduate degree
from Harvard College and his law
degree from Stanford Law School. |

Edward J. McGreen
Executive Vice President and Chief
Capital Markets Officer
|
Ed McGreen is an executive vice
president and the Chief Capital
Markets Officer for the Bank. He has
held this position since July 2005
and is responsible for treasury and
portfolio strategy. Ed joined the Des Moines
Bank in 2004 as the director of
mortgage portfolio management.
Ed came to FHLB Des Moines from his
position as Director of Finance at
Fannie Mae in Washington, DC where
he was responsible for the risk
management and reporting of Fannie
Mae’s debt and derivative business.
He held various finance and
portfolio management positions at
Fannie Mae from 1996 to 2001 and
from 2002 to 2004. From 2001 to
2002, Ed worked as a senior interest
rate risk manager for GE Asset
Management. Ed received his
undergraduate degree in Business
Administration from Ohio State
University and an M.S. degree in
Finance from George Washington
University. |

Steven T. Schuler
Executive Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer |
Steve Schuler is an executive vice
president and Chief Financial
Officer (CFO) for the Bank. As CFO,
Steve has management responsibility
for accounting policy and systems,
financial analysis, planning and
internal reporting and external
reporting and information technology.
Prior to joining FHLB Des Moines in
2006, Steve was chief financial
officer, treasurer and secretary for
Iowa Wireless Services. This
followed a long and distinguished
career at Brenton Banks from 1977 to
2001 when Brenton Banks were
acquired by Wells Fargo. Steve began
his tenure at Brenton as an internal
audit manager and held a variety of
positions with Brenton Banks
eventually serving as the corporate
senior vice president, chief
financial officer, secretary and
treasurer. Steve is a Certified
Public Accountant and received his
B.S. degree in Industrial
Administration from Iowa State
University. |

Dusan Stojanovic
Senior Vice President & Chief Risk
Officer |
Dusan Stojanovic is a senior vice president and the chief risk officer
of FHLB Des Moines. As chief risk officer, Dusan has responsibility for the Bank’s enterprise risk management
area, including credit risk, market risk, and operational risk. Dusan joined the Bank in March 2008 as vice
president and financial risk officer, and was appointed to chief risk officer in July 2009.
Before joining FHLB Des Moines,
Dusan was a senior expert and team
leader for quantification and
modeling in the Capital Markets
Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of
Chicago. Dusan began his tenure at
the Federal Reserve in 1995 as an
associate economist. After eight
years on the staff of the Federal
Reserve Bank of St. Louis, he became
a vice governor for banking
supervision at the National Bank of
Serbia in 2003. Returning to the
United States in 2005, Dusan held
the position of senior
examiner/credit risk modeling
specialist in the Risk and Policy
Department of the Federal Reserve
Bank of Richmond. Dusan received his
undergraduate degree in Economics
from the University of Belgrade and
an M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in
Economics from Washington
University. |

Michael L. Wilson
Executive Vice President and
Chief Business Officer
|
Mike Wilson is an executive vice
president and the chief business
officer of FHLB Des Moines. As chief
business officer, Mike has
responsibility for the Bank’s
business activities that serve its
members and their communities. This
includes credit and mortgage sales,
member financial services,
collateral management,
community investment,
administration, human
resources and project
management.
Before joining FHLB Des Moines, Mike
was the senior executive vice
president and chief operating
officer for the FHLBank of Boston.
Mike began his tenure at the Boston
Bank in 1994 and held the positions
of executive vice president for
finance from 1997 to 1999 and senior
vice president for planning and
research from 1994 to 1997. Prior to
his service at the Boston Bank, he
was the Director of the Office of
Policy and Research at the Federal
Housing Finance Board in Washington,
DC. Mike has a B.A. in Economics and
Political Science from the
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
and a M.S. in Economics from the
University of Wisconsin-Madison. |
