As Chief Human Resources and Administrative Officer, Nancy Betz oversees the Bank’s human resources function, diversity and inclusion initiatives, change management, employee communications and facilities.
With more than 30 years of experience in the human resources field, she has held various management positions. Nancy joined FHLB Des Moines in 2004 as the Human Resources Director. She was then promoted to Senior Vice President/Chief Human Resources Officer in 2011. Finally, in 2017, Nancy was promoted to her current role, where she provides leadership, strategy, and direction for the Human Resources Department as well as counsel and oversight for the Bank’s diversity and inclusion initiatives, employee communications and the Bank’s new headquarters renovation.
Before joining the Bank, Nancy was a director of Human Resources for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. She also spent more than 15 years at DuPont Pioneer, where she held a variety of management positions within human resources. While there, she led all aspects of the human resources program for the business units she supported.
Nancy received a Master of Science degree in Adult Education/Training & Development from Drake University, and Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Upper Iowa University. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management and the Association of Talent Development, and serves as a Board of Trustee for Upper Iowa University and former board member and/or chair of various community organizations.
