Michael J. Blodnick is the chief executive officer of Glacier Bank and the president and chief executive officer of Glacier Bancorp, Inc in Kalispell, Montana. Mr. Blodnick brings over 37 years of community banking experience to the Bank’s board and has worked in all facets of the banking business. Mr. Blodnick began his banking career in 1978 as a line teller for First Federal Savings and Loan, which became Glacier Bank in 1989. In 1990, he was promoted to vice president and treasurer, and in 1993, he was appointed the bank’s secretary and elected to the Glacier Bancorp, Inc. Board of Directors. In 1994, he was promoted to executive vice president, and in 1998, he became president and CEO. His exceptional performance as president and chief executive officer of Glacier Bancorp, Inc. earned Mr. Blodnick recognition as American Banker’s Banker of the Year for 2014.
Mr. Blodnick serves as co-chair for the Kalispell Regional Healthcare Foundation Emergency Services Campaign. He recently served as a member of the Board of Directors of Flathead Valley Community College Foundation, the chair of Flathead Valley Community College Foundation and the chair of the Flathead Valley Community College Executive Campaign. In past years, Mr. Blodnick has served on the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Board of Directors, the University of Montana GAA Board and the University of Montana Business School Advisory Board.
