XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) is a market-driven and global standard for exchanging business information. FHLB Des Moines is required by the Securities and Exchange Commission to provide its members access to its XBRL files. XBRL documents allow information modeling and the expression of semantic meaning commonly required in business reporting. XBRL is XML-based, therefore an XBRL reader is required to download the XBRL documents.
