FHLB Des Moines 2007 Fall Conference
Tellers to Technology


On October 11 – 12, 2007, FHLB Des Moines will hold its Annual Fall Conference at the Downtown Marriott in Des Moines, Iowa. Local and national experts will discuss industry trends, innovations and issues facing community bankers. Join us as we take a step into the future and explore the possibilities of tomorrow.

The conference agenda includes topics such as economics, finance, social media, rural economic development, the future of biofuels and much more.

Des Moines Register reporter Perry Beeman will moderate a well-balanced panel that will explore the future of biofuels and what the economic and environmental impact will be for our area of the country. Panelists will be:

Dr. Anders Gronstedt, president of The Gronstedt Group, and a panel of community bankers and technology experts will talk about new technology tools to boost marketing opportunities. Panelists will be:

FHLB Des Moines Introduces New Advance Products
Member Option Fixed Rate Advance and Member Option Variable Rate Advance

Member Option Fixed Rate Advance
With the Member Option Fixed Rate Advance, members have the flexibility to prepay an advance on predetermined dates throughout the life of the advance without incurring a prepayment fee. The minimum advance amount is $500,000 and additional increments of $100,000 can be added. All transactions less than $5 million will be aggregated and funded when the $5 million threshold is reached. Typical advance maturities are one to 10 years.

 

Member Option Variable Rate Advance
The Member Option Variable Rate Advance allows members to choose either a one-month or three-month advance rate for a fixed-term with the flexibility to prepay the advance without incurring a prepayment fee at rate-reset dates. The advance rate will adjust every month or every three months on the rate-reset dates chosen by the member. The minimum advance amount is $500,000. Advance maturities are available in a variety of terms so members can use the advance for seasonal funding needs, construction loans, home equity lines of credit and more.

eAdvantage Expanded for Member Convenience - Advance Terms Increase from One to Five Years and Advance Amounts Grow from $4.9 Million to $14.9 Million

Members now have the option to use eAdvantage for even more transactions.  FHLB Des Moines has increased the term and loan limits of eAdvantage, our secure, online banking service.  Advance terms have increased from one to less than five years with no limit on the number of total advances booked on eAdvantage in one business day.  Any one single advance as well as advances for any specific term cannot exceed $14.9 million (previously $4.9 million).  For questions, please contact the Help Desk at 800.544.3452, ext. 1029.
